Sotik 2002

Welcomed with a song to William and Janet's home in Sotik

Getting there wasn't all that easy...flat tires are a fact of life in Kenya

Word of the medical and dental clinics brought out scores of patients

Larry, Daniel, the local Kenyan dentist and Alisha screened patients and gave anesthesia

The World Health Organization estimates that there are only 2.2 dentists per 100,000 population in Kenya. The Sotik area has no local dentists. Daniel (center above) is one of only two dentists in the entire Narok District.

Lillian graciously put a large contingent of our team up in her beautiful home. Bill, Charles, Pam, Cheny and Lisa drink Kenyan tea before work.

Fiber optics, magnification loops, a gasoline powered generator, and a portable dental unit assisted Dr. Bill Williams in delivering state-of-the-art dentistry to patients in Sotik.

The 10/40 Window is an area stretching from 10° to 40° north of the equator from West Africa to East Asia. Did you know that 90 percent of all unreached people groups live in this region of the world? The 10/40 Window is identified as having less than 2 percent of their populations as evangelical Christians.
