Olmekenyu Primary School 2002

800 students attend the Olmekenyu Primary School

The Principal encourages the assembly to sing to us

Each group leader spoke to the students

A measles epidemic was threatening Kenya during our stay so the public health core was inoculating everyone against the disease. The nurses from Narok are gathered across the playing field of the school to give the vaccine.

The view from school, looking back down the road back at the new town of Olmekenyu. None of these buildings was built prior to the construction of Mercy Clinic. The clinic has spurred growth, hope and jobs. As a matter of fact, the District Commissioner called this region the "Forgotten People" because no paved roads go into the area and not even dirt roads exist past this school setting.

The 10/40 Window is an area stretching from 10° to 40° north of the equator from West Africa to East Asia. Did you know that 90 percent of all unreached people groups live in this region of the world? The 10/40 Window is identified as having less than 2 percent of their populations as evangelical Christians.
