Sleep Apnea?
Keep Your Dentures
In, Study Recommends
A new report warns that obstructive sleep
apnea may get worse if the sleeper has
removed his or her dentures.
In sleep apnea, the upper airway collapses
during sleep, which causes a temporary
interruption in breathing that makes the person
rouse, gasp for air and begin to breathe again.
When you close your mouth with no teeth, the
gums hit up against each other, and your mouth
is more closed than it ever could be, intensifying
the airway collapse.
