In the
beginning, she was nervous about dentistry because most of the
people had just had to have their decayed teeth pulled. |
Her dark,
seriously decayed teeth did not need to be removed we found.
These were our first tooth-colored anterior fillings in
Honduras. |
|
 |
 |
| |
She is happy
and trying to smile, even if still numb! |
Her very pretty
smile has returned! |
| |
 |
 |
| |
Her friend, had
similar decay on all sides lf her four front teeth. Removing
her four incisors would have been a tragedy. |
She, too, did
not know what to expect initially. Would she have them removed
or saved? |
| |
 |
 |
| |
Having placed
eight anterior tooth-colored composite resin fillings, she was
restored to her gorgeous smile. |
Both patient
and doctor are happy with the beautiful results and the effect
this treatment will have on her life for years. |

Many natives of
Agua Caliente, a village high up on a mountain top in rural
Honduras don't have their teeth by the time they reach middle
age. Dental care is non-existent in their town. |
This little
girl caught our attention.
I think you can see why! |

Sheila sits
with the kids but one is not so happy to have her photo taken |
The kids in the
school were happy to draw for us their best pictures with the
crayons we brought for them |

Our nurse
practitioner, Janet, learned to give mandibular block
anesthesia from Dr. Williams on the mission trip. |
